WITHDRAWAL FROM THE UNIVERSITY: SEMESTER 1 OF THE 2025 ACADEMIC YEAR


Dear Staff and Students

As per the Senate approved sessional dates (Link to 2025 sessional dates), the University advises that the final date for withdrawal from the University is 16h00 on Friday, 28 March 2025.

  1. Withdrawal from the University means deregistration from all academic modules registered for and from residence (if applicable).
  1. Academic withdrawals will not incur any financial penalty and the 2025 tuition fees will be reversed accordingly.
  1. Process for academic withdrawals:

The academic withdrawal form is available from the Student Portal (Link to Academic Withdrawal Form).

Completed forms must be submitted to the respective College and students are to contact their College directly for further assistance.

  1. Residence withdrawals will be charged a pro-rata residence fee up to and including the date on which the residence was vacated (but no later than 28 March 2025).
  1. Process for residence withdrawals:

The residence withdrawal form is available from the Student Portal (Link to Residence Withdrawal Form)

Completed from must be submitted via the Freshdesk Portal: Link to Freshdesk Portal > Submit a ticket > Student Residence > Complete required fields > Submit.

  1. Individual Module(s) withdrawals will continue to incur the financial penalties set out in the 2025 Fees Handbook.
