Welcome Message 2020

Happy New Year, colleagues!

This is the point in the calendar when our minds turn to renewal – to consolidating our achievements in 2019 and preparing for 2020. The combination of hope and resolve that comes to us so readily at the new year is something that we need to sustain in all of our undertakings—both for ourselves and for those entrusted to our care.

My own reflections on UKZN begin with my gratitude for all of your positive contributions to making this University a great institution. I greatly value your commitment and teamwork and, although we still have much to do to realise our ambitions, we can take pride in what we have achieved in the last year. I believe that our growing confidence and shared pride will deliver a year of outstanding achievement and great personal satisfaction for all of us.

Please accept my warm wishes for you and your loved ones for 2020.
