The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) will be hosting the annual UKZN Spring Graduation Ceremonies on the 12th and 13th of September 2018 at the Sports Centre on the UKZN Westville Campus. The ceremonies are held mostly for graduands who complete their studies between April and August each year. UKZN will confer degrees on around 1972 graduands, 57 percent of whom are women.

World renowned musician Vusi Mahlasela will be honoured with a Doctor of Music (honoris causa) on Wednesday, 12 September at 10 am. Mahlasela is being recognised for his outstanding contribution to the betterment of South African society and to the global music industry.

A total of 764 qualifications will be conferred in the College of Humanities, 665 in the College of Law and Management Studies, 398 in the College of Agriculture, Engineering and Science, and 145 in the College of Health Sciences.
