COMMUNIQUÉ FROM THE OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR
URGENT NOTICE – FRAUDULENT NSFAS APPEAL AND/OR DOCTORS NOTES

Dear Staff and Students

It has come to the University’s attention that a site titled “UKZN Buy & Sell” is offering so-called NSFAS Appeal Sick Notes and Doctors Notes for Appeal for sale.
The University strongly advises that providing such a service for financial gain (if not a qualified and registered Medical Practitioner) and / or selling and / or purchasing such documents constitutes fraud and are all illegal.

Submitting falsified documents is a serious offence and will be treated as misconduct.

The University takes such matters very seriously and will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against any registered student found to be selling or submitting fraudulent documents. Cases of this nature will be dealt with through the Student Discipline Court.

Please be cautious and avoid engaging in such activities. In addition, be aware that any money paid for these fraudulent services will be lost, with no guarantee of legitimacy.

The University will accept no liability or responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect or consequential, which may arise from access to or reliance on the information contained in the abovementioned site.
