UKZN Gym Supervisor Scores Gold in Bodybuilding
In an impressive demonstration of determination and skill, gym supervisor at UKZN, Ms Zamile Nduli scored a gold medal at the KwaZulu-Natal Open Bodybuilding Championship 2023 on 19 August.
Embarking on a new chapter in her bodybuilding career, Nduli decided to compete in the women’s physique category. This transition was motivated by the insightful guidance of her coach, who recognised her potential. She embarked on an intense training regimen, working five days a week to refine her routines and sculpt her physique.
She acknowledged the support of the School of Health Sciences, the Discipline of Biokinetics, Exercise and Leisure Sciences, colleagues, friends, and family. Her friends played a crucial role on the day of the event, meticulously managing every detail to ensure her success.
Behind every victorious athlete stands a dedicated coach. Nduli’s coach, Mr Thomas Wagner guided her in a challenging training routine that pushed her boundaries. Her choreographer, Ms Bongiwe Gumede added an artistic dimension to her performance, crafting a routine that captivated the audience.
Nduli also expressed her thanks to Professor Rowena Naidoo who mentored and guided her, offering support beyond the competition arena.
With her sights set on the upcoming 2023 National Championships from 1 to 3 September, Nduli hopes to soar to even greater heights.
