UKZN Business School Enters into a Partnership to make Durban Great Again!

The Graduate School of Business and Leadership (GSB&L) recently co-hosted a Networking Business Breakfast partnership with Invest Durban and Cox Yeats.

The event brought together dignitaries role players, including the the USA’s Consul- General of the United States, Ms Josie Ratcliffe, business and moghuls, key thought leaders, and GSB&L alumni to discuss economic development and public/private partnerships for a more vibrant Durban.

The collaboration was birthed started in July when the three parties business breakfast hosts met at the PMR Africa awards – where they were respectively recognised for their hard work, – this is where and the idea to form a partnership originated was born.

For the business school, the breakfast served as a way to foster Business Networking, and Industry Partnerships and Collaborations and also to while promote promoting the programmes offered by the GSB&L.

Commenting on the event, GSB&L Interim Executive Director and Dean, Professor Colette Muller said, “The support and interest from both public and private entities following the GSB&Ls business school’s success and recognition at the PMR Africa awards highlights the School’s its pivotal role in regional economic development.”

“Co-hosting the business breakfast with The City’s Invest Durban and Cox Yeats Attorneys provided a welcomed opportunity for the GSB&L to foster valuable networking opportunities with influential industry leaders and alumni of our institution, strengthening ties that can drive future partnerships and open doors for collaborative projects”, she said Muller added.

Presenting UKZN, Acting Dean and Head of the College of Law and Management Studies at UKZN Professor Managay Reddi delivered a talk presented on the College and its Professional links and as well as Industry partnerships that foster collaborations, knowledge exchange and innovation.

Also addressing the Another speaker guests was Mr Eric Apelgren, Head International Governance and Relations at Invest Durban. He who shared the city’s vision for a more vibrant Durban and he discussed also shared plans in motion and in the pipeline to making make Durban a business hub again.
