The University of KwaZulu-Natal cordially invites you to a webinar on COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AT UKZN: CURRENT PRACTICES, FUTURE DIRECTIONS.

The third strategic goal of the University’s Strategic Plan 2017-2021 focuses on ‘the promotion of high-impact societal and stakeholder community engagement’. however, community engagement at UKZN has been divergent and uneven in both theory and in practice. The aim of the webinar is to reflect on current interpretations and perceptions of community engagement as well as its links to research, teaching and learning with the objective being to explore how UKZN can develop a clear and cohesive community engagement framework.

Members of the discussion panel are: Professor Bernhard Gaede (HOD: Family Medicine), Dr Ingrid Bamberg (Andrew Mellon Fellow, Centre for Critical Research on Race and Identity), Professor Betty Mubangizi (SARChI Chair in Sustainable Rural Development) and Professor Mershen Pillay (Audiologist and Speech Therapist).
