The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music proudly presents Simthandile Mtolo on Wednesday 7 August 2019 at 18h00.

Simthandile holds over a decade of experience in the live entertainment industry as a professional performer and live entertainment specialist. She comes from a family that loves music. Some of Simtha’s influences include Simphiwe Dana, Esperanza Spalding, Erykah Badu as well as Whitney Houston, Jill Scott, Gregory Porter, Maleh, Lalah Hathaway, and Siphokazi.

In 2015 Simtha was awarded the 1st prize for East Coast Radio’s Be The Band Competition which she won a R50 000 music hamper for, as well as the chance to perform at The BP Durban Day where she shared a stage with Prime Circle, Thandiswa Mazwai and Mafikizolo, to name but a couple.
