The Discipline of Psychology in the School of Applied Human Sciences  invites you to a public lecture by Professor Lucas Gottzén titled “Shame, masculinity and responses to men’s violence against women.”

Professor Lucas Gottzén is Assistant Professor in Social Work at Linköping University, Sweden. His research mainly focuses on masculinity, fatherhood and men’s violence against women. He has also conducted research on home-school relations. He is the author of Andra män (‘Other men: Masculinity, normativity and gender equality’, 2012, W. R. Jonsson), and editor of NORMA: Nordic Journal for Masculinity Studies. His research has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including Gender & Education, Gender & Society, Journal of Youth Studies, Men & Masculinities, and Qualitative Research.

The lecture will be held on Wed 2 May at 12:30 in the Postgraduate Seminar Room in the Psychology Building, Golf Rd, Pietermaritzburg.  (Google maps link)
