The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music proudly presents
Heritage Twosday with Maskandi musician Khombisile “Skho” Miya on Tuesday 10
September 2019 at 18:00.

 

Khombisile Miya and her exceptional band unique in the genre
of the maskandi. The Band infuses the richness of the traditional music genre
with African Sound and pure maskandi beats. The music instilled with dialogue
of traditional and contemporary social comments.

 

Khombisile aims to be an ambassador, transmitter of the
artistic, cultural, and heritage wisdom of African cultures in South Africa and
Africa throughout the world, enhancing the essence of the celebration of the
living heritage throughout the generations using music and dance.

joined keyboard player Wiseman Chiyi, guitarist- Bhekizwe Khalala, bassist Mzo
Mkhize, drummer Sbu Mkhize and backing vocalists/ Dancers Bonisiwe Phungula,
Nontobeko Mtshare and  Pinky Mabaso at The Centre for Jazz and Popular
music (CJPM), Level 2, Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus on
Tuesday 10 September 2019 at 18:00. Doors open at 17.30pm show starts at 18:00.
