UKZN Campbell Collections, the BAT Centre and SlamPoetryOperationTeam invite you to an exhibition of BAT Centre Art Students’ works and a Slam Poetry Showcase themed:

Heritage and Freedom: An exploration of the concepts of heritage and freedom through visual arts and poetry.

In this year that celebrates a century of struggle, this collaborative effort sought to pull young voices into conversation with the concepts of freedom, revolution and liberation, as they understand them in their present reality. Through visual art and poetry, the artists manifest their thoughts, which in turn gave birth to an art exhibition titled ‘Heritage and Freedom’ and a Slam Poetry Showcase which will root itself in remembering the heroes of radical and progressive Black Consciousness. Please join us in giving a platform to the youth, whose conceptions not only provide a contemporary perspective on struggle, but determine the liberation agenda for the future.
