Date: Tuesday, 22 July 2014
Time: 12h30 – 16h00

Topic: Non-violent civil disobedience was theorised by Gandhi as Satyagraha in 1906 and implemented in Newcastle on a mass scale in 1913. This led to Gandhi’s expulsion from South Africa a century ago. The impact of this legacy and innovations in strategies and tactics can be felt in many struggles for justice across the world.
