Soli Philander - Thursday October 21

Soli Philander is a regular face on South African television and stages. The multi-talented personalityhas been a feature of the Media and Arts and Entertainment Industry for more than 20 years. He has performed in all the major theatre centres in South Africa, and internationally he has worked in the UK , US, Sweden and The Netherlands. He is the currently the presenter of Mnet and Kyknet's very popular celebrity show Liriekeraai, and hosts the game-show Vat A Kans . On the SABC screens he has appeared in a number of roles, including starring in Off The Record, a series satirising election politics and in the multi-lingual drama series Reflections. He did a two-year, daily stint for Capetalk Radio presenting his talkshow Airborne, which followed a very successful start with Punt Geselsradio on his Afrikaans show Gorrelpunt. He has been nominated for numerous awards and has received awards for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and A Lifetime Contribution to the Arts awards. He is also a prolific writer and director. One of his best loved works is the witty, Take Two, his vehicle for the wicked, sharp-tongued comic creation, Rosie September.
